thoughts on leaving

sea dreams (beaches #6)

For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed that I stopped posting at the end of November 2021. I needed a break and after some reflection and research decided to make a change in the way I share words, thoughts and images about my processes and art with you.

My central reason for creating the art I do is to create something that invites us in to a quiet space where we can feel sanctuary, serenity and beauty. I am finding Instagram no longer supports that - the pace has become ever more hectic, and it's harder to see the things we are looking for. The pressure of being visible in such an intense environment isn’t in line with what I want to offer you.

In all aspects of what I do I want to evoke a peaceful feeling and so it feels correct to create that in a weekly Sunday morning email...enjoyed perhaps with a delicious coffee, and time set aside to nurture yourself. If you prefer not to receive an email, you can read a similar post here on my blog later in the day on Sundays.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to bring you the same kinds of things as I have on Instagram. Exquisite paintings made with deep intention…made with the highest quality materials…with encouragement to nourish and enrich your life with beauty…offered to those who want to create feelings of peace, calm and serenity in their lives.

I hope to see you on Sunday mornings where I’ll delight you with thoughts, words and images while fostering a space for grace and calm.

Until next time,
Mardell
